Kaizen. A Japanese word that simply means "change for better." A philosphy and way of life, a mindset of constant improvement.
I get much joy from having this mindset. It all started with sports. I would obsess over details; be consumed by learning and refining techniques. Implement strategies to minimize weakness and maximize strengths. I realize that it is the constant improvement and
strategic thinking of figuring out how to win in sports that I love so much. After being introduced to programming, I was hooked. Everything that I loved about sports translated to this amazing thing called coding! Within weeks, I dropped everything to pursue my new passion. I spent months in the hyperbolic time chamber (Bay Area), and returned to San Diego, ready to turn my new passion into my career as a Developer.

Collaborated with Carol Taira, UX/UI designer to bring a mock upscale sushi restaurant website to life. Integrated Google Maps API to pinpoint restaurant location. Utilized jQuery and CSS to create custom FAQ section and photo sideshow from wireframes.

Inspired by a Hackernoon article, Emergency Alert System is a simple UX/UI overhaul of the Hawaii Alert System. The aim of the redesign is to drastically reduce the chance of a false alert. The app features two seperate UI designs based on what type of alert is to be sent (real or test).
